Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation! The Rams victory light is lit this evening and the #flytheW flag will be waving in the hallways of Rockdale School tomorrow and for two wins in a ROW!! Our Rockdale Rams Baseball team scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning and never looked back this afternoon at Rockdale Stadium against Elwood. 8th Grader, Ryan Cooling hit a moon shot 2-run homerun over the fence during the 11-2 victory! Great way to continue the week with another WIN! Let’s get more W’s with two more games this week!! Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation. A BIG shoutout to our Rockdale Lady Rams on a great season. Although your season game to an end this evening in the first round of Regionals against South Wilmington, you were #ALL IN and will always be #1 in our hearts. This season had games where we scored lots of runs like 17 runs was our high, Willow Reyna (6th Grader) hit a home run vs. Laraway, I believe 3 double plays total which is incredible, and we also learned to step up as a team as we have some first time softball players this year that got their feet wet while having seven graduating 8th Graders. A special thanks to Coach Kirk and Coach Shear for your leadership this season. We could not have done it without you. Thank you to our 8th Grade Lady Rams who put on their softball jersey for the last official time for Rockdale. Nadia Casillas, 8th Grader, hit a double tonight to score our two runs! Best of luck to you all in future athletic seasons both here at Rockdale and maybe next year in High School. We are proud of you! Buenas noches Nación Rockdale Ram. Our Rockdale Rams Baseball team overpowered and the bats came alive during the HOME game this afternoon at Rockdale Stadium against Laraway. Back to back triples, followed by a double capped off a 14-1 victory for our Rams baseball team. Great way to start the week with a win. Many more chances this week to get those W’s!! Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation. This is to serve as notice of our upcoming PTO Movie Night scheduled for Friday, September 16th, the front blacktop opening up at 6:30 pm with the concession sales and 7:15 pm the tentative start time for the movie. Friday, September 23 is the rain date and will either be outside, preferred space, or inside depending on the forecast. As voted on by the students, our movie for the evening is….. Minions: The Rise of Gru Admission to the movie is free, but the concessions for the evening will be available CASH ONLY. We will have items ranging from popcorn to hot dogs to nachos to glow sticks to freeze pops to a variety of candy. Be on the lookout for fliers being sent home next week. As a reminder, students must be accompanied by an adult. Any misbehavior during the movie may result in the student being removed from the school property. Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation. This is to serve as notice of the upcoming Girls Basketball season at Rockdale School for our 5th thru 8th Grade girls. Coach Richards has scheduled the following upcoming dates prior to the official start of the season: September 13-Parent Information Meeting at 3:45 pm in the Rockdale School gym (practice and game schedules will be handed out) September 16-Tentative 1st GBB practice from 3:45-5:00 pm As a reminder, student athletes must have a current physical on record at Rockdale School. Sports physicals are only good for 395 days and must be updated each school year for compliance. If they participated in softball this school year, everything should be good to go. Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation. A HUGE shoutout to the Shorewood Walmart for their generous donation to Rockdale School of the leftover school supplies in the store. Items ranged from pencil boxes to Trapper Keepers to spiral notebooks of paper to journals. This act of kindness occurred yesterday, Tuesday, August 30th. Thanks to Mr. Puckett for picking up the donated school supplies. A special thanks to Mrs. Stewart, Ms. Hamilton, and Mrs. Shear for their efforts in organizing the supplies into the Care Closet! A special thanks to the owners and staff of Hamburgerseria for hosting our Rockdale families tonight for our first PTO Food Fundraiser event of the 22-23 school year. It was RAMtastic to connect with so many families enjoying the breakfast burger to the loaded french fries to the chicken strips to one adventurous parent who tried the peanut butter burger!! Fun and great food was had by all!! What a fun way to review math by enjoying the beautiful weather, exploring the Rockdale School property, and working on math fluency and fact practice all at the same time. Good evening Rockdale Ram Nation! Today was a busy day at Rockdale School! Our students rotated between three parts of the building to learn about expected behaviors and how to show their Rockdale PRIDE throughout the school. Tomorrow, Friday, August 19th, our Rams will finish the final three rotations as part of our PBIS Kickoff 2022 event. It started yesterday with an all school assembly to learn about Rockdale PRIDE and what it means when you see or say #VIBECHECK! PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports which focuses on creating learning environments that support positive behavior and social interactions. A special thank you to Ms. Willis, Ms. Kirk, Mrs. Lorenc, Mrs. Vallera, Mr. Whalen, Ms. Mahoney, Ms. Walls, Mrs. Kelch, Mr. Mooney for facilitating speaking to our Rams in those various parts of the building! This has been a RAMtastic start to the 22-23 school year! ¡Buenas noches, nación Rockdale Ram! ¡Hoy fue un día ocupado en la Escuela Rockdale! I am beyond excited to announce that we are celebrating TWO (2) WINS tonight, one for our Lady Rams Softball team who played an away game against Laraway and won 17-10, while our Boys Baseball team also played an away game against Laraway and dominated 12-1!!
