Back-to-School Expo
State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel and State Representative Natalie Manley are holding a Back-to School Expo at Joliet West High School! The expo will be held TOMORROW, July 26th from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Your students must be present to receive any back packs or supplies.
YMCA After School Care
Did you know that Rockdale offers after school care?! We partner with the YMCA to ensure all students have a safe and productive place to go during after school hours. Any family who registers for the YMCA Kid Zone between July 25-August 4 will receive a discount of $50! The Y also accepts DHS Funds and has Y Scholarships available for those who would qualify.

At Rockdale, learning doesn't stop in the summer! Ms. Darlin, Ms. Kirk, and three members of the building leadership team, Ms. Willis, Mrs. Shear, and Mr. Meister, have been spending their second week of summer break in Naperville participating in a conference with Dr. Anita Archer that focuses on Explicit Instruction. This conference teaches high-level instructional strategies that are proven by research to increase student performance in the classroom.
They are ready to bring what they've been learning back to the staff and continue to make Rockdale the best that it can be!

On May 8th, our National Junior Honor Society students took a field trip to Feed My Starving Children in Aurora. They assembled food packs for children in need around the world.

On May 9th, they competed in Sectionals at Milton Pope High School. All of our Rams did an amazing job!
A special congratulations to 8th graders, Alivia Bailey and Dhan Mesiona, who both qualified for State in the 200m. We can't wait to cheer them on next week!
